Nehem International participated in a Grundtvig project: “Network for intercultural advice”. Together with partners from Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Bulgaria, Nehem International studied relevant experiences of advising to ethnic entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. These experiences were discussed with the project partners, compared with similar experiences in the participating countries and incorporated in a tool box.
The project members started a discussion forum on internet to contribute to the continuous exchange of experience on the subject. To read one of the case studies from the Netherlands, click here.

Partner in this project focussed on the development of perspective SME's in the central region of Bulgaria. Needs analysis. The project addresses the needs of young graduates to improve their chances in the labour market. Czech Republic: Labour Pool for unemployed youngsters - Download project fiche
Nehem International established a Labour Pool for unemployed youngsters in Ostrava and Karviná region in the Czech Republic. The labour Pool reuses unemployment benefits to train and employ the youngsters in the Labour Pool. Estonia: Development of work linked training programmes and network in the North East South and Island regions in Estonia
Nehem International provided technical assistance for the implementation of the Phare project Development of work-linked training programmes and network in the North-East, South and Island regions in Estonia. The contract involves technical assistance through many activities, among others: develop a concept for work-linked off-the-job and on-the-job traineeship programmes in Estonia; develop criteria and methodology for accrediting work-linked enterprises; assist the regional training centres in developing methodology, curricula, course support materials and competence based testing materials.

Lithuania: Support of unemployed people in Lithuania through local network development
The project main object is the transfer of a technique in improving chances of unemployed people to acquire a (new) job. This technique will be transferred to the Lithuanian Mediating and Training Authority (a department of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour). Local specialists of LLMTA will use this method "Mediating in Employment Orientation" in a number of cases during a period of 1,5 year.(Matra Dutch Bilateral Programme, 2001-2003, EUR 350,000)
Poland: Skills development of human resources in Malopolska region
Project for the development and execution of a regional professional and entrepreneurial (SME) training programme. The objective of the project was to support the upgrading labour force skills among rural citizens in Malopolska region by preparing and delivering of a comprehensive training programme targeted mainly at the professional activation of project beneficiaries.(EU Phare 1999-2000, EUR 495,000)
Slovak Republic: AIDR-SPEED projects
SPEED (Slovak Programme for Enterprises with Excess Debts), envisaged the company business/financial restructuring of about 30 formerly state owned companies facing bankruptcy. Multi country: Identifying the best practises in the field of social restructuring, operation and management of labour pools in EU member states
Nehem International experts have identified best practises in Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark and Lithuania to reduce redundant staff during industrial restructuring. Special attention has been given to the Coal, Metal and Textile sector.
